Young & Twenty: My Hustle Years

IMG_8856

I was featured on Young & Twenty and was told I could share the post on my own personal blog! The link to it is here if you want to see the rest of the collection.

I’m turning 22 next week.

I just graduated from college. I’m jobless – and to be honest – really unsure of where I’m going to end up.

I read just about every advice blog post put in front of me, and just about all of them are trying to tell me to drop everything and go on some life changing adventure.

This is the time to follow my reckless dreams.

It’s something 20-year-old’s hear a lot.

“I can’t drop everything; because I don’t have anything to drop. I need to start gathering things.”

But my 20’s (or the next 9 years) are my building years. I can’t drop everything; because I don’t have anything to drop. I need to start gathering things. I’m young, and I need to use that youth to give me a solid foundation.

Because truthfully, it’s a lot harder to do it in your 30’s.

And you know what?

Traveling. Adventures. They can happen when you’re a bit older, whether you use all your given vacation time at once, or go off between jobs, or take a job somewhere on the other side of the ocean.

“In 9 years I want to look back and smile; because I already hustled – then I can simply lay back and enjoy.”

I’m young. I’m in my 20’s. In 9 years I want to look back and smile; because I already hustled – then I can simply lay back and enjoy.

So how do I get there?

I guess that’s something I’ll figure out as I continue on, into my 20’s.

Here’s to moving on wards!
