Rubbing Oil on your Face? This Face Wash is a Miracle.

This is NOT a sponsored post.

We’ve been told since day one that we shouldn’t use face products with oil in them, so saying that I have found a face wash that is an oil sounds crazy, right?

You rub oil all over your dry face, then you get your face wet, and wash it off.

When you run your hand over your skin it feels clean, like you washed it with a soap. It doesn’t leave your skin oily or greasy at all. I know you’re probably skeptical, after all, I have naturally dry skin, a little extra oil might be a good thing. I understand why you feel this way, because that’s why I decided to buy it in the first place. The thing is, my mother has oily skin and she borrowed it to try and guess what? It works just the same on her.  Continue reading

The Dry Skin Care Guide:

I’m one of those few young ladies who doesn’t suffer terribly from acne. What I suffer from? Peeling skin, cracking skin, brittle hair, allergic reactions to every other beauty product, and well all together sensitive skin. Plus I’m told I’m going to wrinkle real early. Oh. Joy.

But I found myself working my way through my beauty products thinking, nobody even talks about half these things, because everyone is doing beauty reviews and recommendations for people with acne, or people with oily to normal skin. Skin people like me just don’t have.

So if you have dry skin, listen up, this one is for you.

Skin straight

CHI Silk Infusion: The only hair product in this post. It’s an anti-freeze, moisturizing hair miracle. My hair dresser introduced it to me and it’s a little pricey, but it lasts for years, I swear. You only put a tiny dime sized amount on your hand and rub it into your towel dried hair, starting at the ends and working up. I never put it against my scalp, but I get towards the top.

Niva Soft: It’s a body lotion, but one that’s not to heavy or to thin and that really sinks into your skin. I’m not sure you need instructions, so I’ll just leave it at this: it’s the best one I’ve tried. Plus it doesn’t have much of a scent.

Burt’s Bees Sensitive Facial Cleansing Towelettes: You know the days that you shower in the morning or you’re just too tired? Yes, and washing your face dries it out so bad? These things are great. They take off make up and dirt. They smell a little funny, but they don’t leave that scent on your skin, so don’t worry. My face didn’t have any type of reaction or irritation to it, so they marketed correctly, they are sensitive.

skin offNeutrogena body oil: This stuff is new to me. It’s sesame seed oil mainly, but it works wonders, and is unscented. You’re supposed to put it on right after a shower. You dry off, put a small amount on, rub it in, than pat your skin with a towel. It works magic. If you just put a little on you don’t feel greasy at all, if you put a little too much on (which I did at first) you just feel it for a little bit. I tend to put more on when I’m putting it on my legs and arms when getting ready for bed, than sleep in a long sleeve tee and leggings, that way it keeps it against your skin. You’ll wake up with soft, silky skin. I made a good choice to buy it. (and it was a doctors recommendation for me!)

Cindy Crawford Antioxidant Day Creme (aka Face Lotion): I don’t put the oil on my face, not because I know for fact it would make me break out, but because I’m suspicious. So I needed a light lotion, because I hate heavy creams on my face that make me feel like I’m wearing a mask. So at night after I shower I put this on my face. A little goes a long way, and it’s SPF 20 so it’ll protect you face too. It’s unscented also.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer: I don’t have problems with acne, but like everyone I do get an occasional red spot or splotchy complexion. This is a make up product that has sheer coverage, but really good moisturizer. It’s a little more pricey, but I think it’s worth it. Plus they match your skin tone in store, and you can try it in store, so you can make the final decision yourself. It’s oil free, but it still moisturizers my dry skin, and well, that’s a win.

meSee? Smooth, none peeling, splotchy skin. Great products.
